IBM has released a new integration in their Aspera on Cloud SaaS platform, combining the power of accelerated cloud file transfer and world-leading anti-virus and anti-malware scanning from Trend Micro through their Vision One File Security Storage solution.
Aspera on Cloud (AoC) is a hybrid SaaS platform for high-speed file transfer and collaboration, powered by the Aspera FASP protocol, the leading tool for accelerating the movement of files across the enterprise. AoC allows users to attach their own on-premise storage, or integrate with existing cloud object storage, such as AWS S3 buckets.
A major set of use cases for AoC involves accepting transfers of data from partners and freelancers from anywhere in the world.
Vision One is Trend Micro’s AI-powered enterprise cybersecurity platform, that unifies prevention, detection, investigation and response. File Security Storage is a SaaS offering that can scan object storage without size limitations, while still being able to move at very high speed – a critical differentiator for customers that are using Aspera to handle large files at high throughput.
File Security Storage is deployed into a customer’s cloud account, so data does not leave your environment and is under your full control at all times. It uses cloud-native technologies such as Lamba serverless functions scanning for low infrastructure costs and can publish results to an SNS topic and tag S3 objects natively.
IBM Aspera can now be configured to work hand-in-hand with Vision One File Security Storage. Many customers already have File Security Storage deployed alongside AoC, with automated quarantine of any malicious files, and additional controls in place to prevent access of files that have not been scanned.
This new integration works specifically with the Packages application inside of AoC. When a new Package is sent, it will not be released for download until the files have all been successfully scanned. Once verified as clean, the email notification to any recipients will be sent and the Package will be available for download.
The scanning progress will now be displayed when a user send a package. As the upload occurs, a new field showing that this package is Set for scanning is displayed:
This progresses to a status that of Scanning in progress:
And finally, Scanning Completed, and the package is released for the recipient:
Vision One File Security Storage must already be licensed and deployed in your AWS account, and configured to scan the bucket associated with your AoC Node.
From there, a new option is now available in the Admin application for AoC:
Click on Create New to start a new integration. This step will also help generate the Trust Relationship details that you will need to configure in AWS IAM, allowing the AoC servers to get status of each object as it is published by Vision One File Security Storage:
PacGenesis has a team of experts ready to help you deploy and configure this integration.
