Introduction
IBM Aspera on Cloud (AoC) is a hybrid SaaS offering that enables high-speed file transfer and collaboration for end users through a simple web interface.
IBM has released support for File Previews for customers that subscribe to AoC Enterprise Edition and utilize AWS S3 storage for the content.
This feature will generate thumbnail previews of image, and document files, and 30 second previews of video files. These are viewable inside of the AoC web interface.
Implementation
File Preview is currently available as a customer-managed solution. IBM has made a container available that customers can deploy into their AWS ECR private repository. The work is done by AWS Lambda instances – a low-resource instance for processing image thumbnails, and a high-resource instance for processing video.

Once previews are generated, they will be automatically available in the Aspera on Cloud web interface.
File Types Supported
